We have PHP setup a specific way for security reasons.

I've said this to you in a ticket before (I think, apologies if I'm wrong) and to may other people also. We are not planning on upgrading PHP on the web server that you are hosted on any time soon as there are many things it could break. The upgrade is not totally necessary (if it was a PHP4 to PHP5 upgrade then it would be) and to do so we would have to take the web server offline for a while.
