Arrrrggg.... Insurance!!

Well, i am rapidly approaching my renewal for my bike insurance which the current policy ends on 5th August 2010. For the year just about to finish i paid about £800 for the year. Now with a years no claims etc the renewal prices are coming in at a minimum of £1200!!!!!

I wouldn't have minded if it had stayed the same or only dropped a little, but increasing by £400... not happy. The price increases more than that when i add things like helmet and leathers cover so i would end up paying around £1300 for the year.

get a quote off of one of the hundreds of comparison sites, phone up current insurance company with quote and haggle them down or tell them your leaving!

tbh if you have personally not done nothing to mess your insurance up, i.e claimed, caught speeding ect.... its most likely because in your area theres been a load of thefts.... only way to reduce it, get a smaller cc bike or pay.... sux but thats the law

They tried to do that to me so I went on their website and got a cheaper insurance on a new policy and ignored the renewal, Simplies!

No claims, no points or anything like that. I am an angel on the road you see! I only have a 125cc bike anyway and i am NOT getting a moped

Their renewal on the web was in the region of £2500! More than what they quoted on the phone. I have searched everywhere for cheaper quotes

Not a clue Olly. I would have thought so at a younger age as it requires a little more skill to ride a bike than it does for a car with the leaning round corners etc.

for your age Bob £800 was cheap to start with
have you tried a traders policy?
mine covers me for anything im driving although i do get pulled now and then as some of tthe cars are not covered by insurance by anyone else so i just carry my policy with me at all times now

I think mate it's down to your age and location, us old nothern fellas have been there relatively speaking you just need to get older !

Last year I paid £340 for my car insurance (although the renewal was £475 and I made em price match). This year the renewal came in at £438 and I could only find cheaper by upping the excesses to stupid levels, and even then I couldn't get below £400, so I rang the insurance company, whined a bit, and they took off £20.

I'm on max no claims discount now, so until I hit 30, its not going to get cheaper for me anymore. I feel disheartened
