It’s way more fun with ranked servers then normal ones, i thought it was special made for ppl that want fun and others can see what they’re capabable of.

Personally I can’t understand why they would restrict INX (by far the biggest game server provider in UK at least, perhaps even Europe), from supply BF2 ranked servers. Surely they are just restricting the amount of revenue they are making through ranked servers and through people not buying the game!

Buck your ideas up EA, and step to it!

INX have always offered value for money in terms of quality service, and since the focus of the Battlefield series has always been online gaming, it makes a lot of sense to allow them to host ranked servers.

For one I would rather play non-ranked games on an INX server than ranked games on a non-INX server, on the basis that I get frustrated with lag, and really annoyed when characters teleport (if you think I’m exaggerating, what else do you call appearing 10 feet to the left of where they were the frame before?).

Denying INX the right to sell ranked server slots seems to be a move that can only have a negative impact on the Battlefield community, by denying them a source of cost-effective quality servers to play on.

EA! Why will you not allow INX to sell ranked servers. Ranked servers change a gameing experiance completely, not only do they make the game better for the more competetive player but they allow less experianced less competetive players the see what they are up against and what they could aspire to.

If you go through with not alowing INX to sell these ranked servers you are surely depriving yourself of a huge amount of revenue. Just give up the corperate act and give them the SERVES!

Good luck, I have been a private GSP for 5 years. I don’t charge anyone to use or play any of my six servers hosted on my own equipment….
I have been trying to get an ok for rank usage for quite a while. They tell me the same thing, the program is full, we are not accepting anymore GSP’s.
I knew when I saw the way BF2 is laid out from the player verification to the way the ranking is done this would be trouble. With you being the biggest provider it is just stupid you can’t offer ranked servers.
EA is beginning to look like IW with the holier than thou attitude. Look at the hoops you have to jump through just to get Euro Force and Armored Fury to work.

EA make the banks look like they have good customer service. They are the video game nazis. Once a title has sold through its lifespan (BF2 for ex.) they basically stop supporting or even caring about it.

I no longer buy EA games because of this. I their sports franchise says it all.

2k starts making sports games that are better than EAs at half the price. What does EA do? They buy the rights exclusive rights to sell MLB, NBA and NFL titles. 2k now has to call their game Professional Football and can’t use any of the team names. Lame.

EA Games is just being ridicilous. Why don’t they want you to host ranked servers? Possible “cheating” to rank up easy? Well, look at all already-exisitng Stat Paddings servers. Nothin’ wrong with ‘em.

Even with stat paddings servers it takes a _long_ time to get the highest rank or the weapons you’d like to reach. So what? It takes years of non-stats-padding otherwise.

Also, I doubt players play for stats, Battlefield 2 have gone relativley old in the current generation of games. So I doubt those “I-wanna-be-the-number-one”-enthusiasts no longer plays BF2 for the stats. Most plays for the sake of fun and team tactics needed to win.

Also those unlockable weapons brings an extreme overpowerness to some players in the game.

Wise up guys, EA don’t give a s*** about us. We Buy thier product, then they tell us how to use it. We don’t own the game we buy, we just rent it on their terms. For example,,how many of you know that punkbuster is a trojan that has access to “ALL” of your system, it is a trojan. All your files are open to them. This is a violation of the privacy act, but you can’t play EA games without agreeing to this violation. 180,000 accounts have been re set!, work out the math guys, how many more BF2 games have been sold because of theses re sets. Forget getting more ranked providers, it aint gonna happen. EA own your ass if you play BF2.

Phil, consumer pressure is the only thing that forces companies to actually change their business practices. If there’s enough of an outcry, if enough people email EA telling them how they feel then yeah, a change will happen eventually.
